Voss – easy to reach, hard to leave
Set between fjords and mountains, just 1.5 hours from Bergen – with a gondola departing straight from the train station. Arrive by train, bus, or car from Bergen or Oslo. The gondola starts in the town centre, and the cabins are only 10 minutes away.

The food and drink culture is particularly strong in Voss, something the village has become world-famous for. Of course you've heard of Vossafår! And perhaps you've heard of the delicacy known as smalahove? These are just a few of the many unique food experiences in Voss.
At Hangurstoppen Restaurant, we focus on food made from scratch and Norwegian ingredients. Here you'll be served food with good, seasonal and local ingredients. You will also find several places that serve home-made and traditional dishes, such as Vangen Café and Flor’n Restaurant, at Store Ringheim.
Voss has a long and unique tradition of brewing beer, something that has certainly attracted a lot of attention in recent years. Voss is particularly well known for its famous Kveik. This traditional yeast has a particularly long, ancient Norwegian tradition in Voss and is now being promoted internationally among beer brewers. Several of the breweries welcome visitors, including Voss Bryggeri and Voss Fellesbryggeri.
