From first turns to full control
Skiing and snowboarding are much more enjoyable when you master your equipment, feel the rhythm of your turns and find the flow on the slopes.
Our skilled instructors are happy to share tips and techniques whether you are a complete beginner, want to learn carving, ride powder, head out on ski touring adventures, or perfect your technique on the Giant Slalom course.
Private lessons
Private lessons offer the best and most personalised instruction. Your instructor tailors the session to your skills, needs and goals, whether you are a beginner or an experienced skier.
For skiers and snowboarders you can choose between:
- 50 minutes (children under 12 only)
- 100 minutes (suitable for all ages and levels)
- 150 minutes (suitable for all ages and levels)
- Full day (5 hours) – suitable for everyone over 13

Book private lessons
Remember to book at least 48 hours in advance. Booking is available online or on arrival.
Group lessons
Learn together with others at your level. Group lessons are a fun and social way to improve your skills, and are held only at Hangurstoppen.
If needed, we divide participants into age groups (e.g. 7–8 years, 12–15 years) to ensure tailored instruction. Please note: we cannot guarantee that lessons will be taught in Norwegian. Some instructors teach in English.
There must be a minimum of five participants to conduct a group lesson. If fewer than five register, the lesson will still run, but with a reduced duration of 100 minutes. If only one participant attends, the duration is reduced to 50 minutes.
Group lesson options:
- 2 day course: blue or green level, 150 minutes (starts Saturdays)
- 3 day course: blue or green level, 150 minutes (starts Mondays)
- 5 day course: blue or green level, 150 minutes (starts Mondays)
- Skiing for children 5–7 years old: A safe and fun start for the youngest (100 minutes)

Group courses
Throughout the winter, especially during weekends and holidays, we offer various speciality courses. For example, jib courses, avalanche courses, carving courses, mountaineering courses, snowboard courses, and cross-country skiing technique courses.
Meeting Points
Voss Resort has two ski school locations:
- Hangurstoppen – located at the top station of the gondola, just below Hangurstoppen Restaurant.
- Bavallen – located in Bavallen Skishop, next to the ticket office. Ideal for guests arriving by car instead of the gondola.
Please select your preferred meeting location when booking online. Both locations offer ski rental, so you can pick up your equipment before your lesson. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before, or 30 minutes before if you need to rent equipment.
