Voss is only one and a half hours from Bergen, surrounded by western Norwegian nature with the Voss mountains right outside. Take the train, step off the platform and walk directly to the gondola, which takes you to Hangurstoppen in ten minutes.
Here summer begins with trail cycling, airy mountain walks, a climbing park, great views and cold drinks in the sun. Whether you come with friends for excitement and fun, or simply want to enjoy the mountain air, Voss is easy to reach and hard to leave.
Five popular mountain hikes
Hangurstoppen is located 818 meters above sea level and is a great starting point for nice hikes in the mountains.
If you want a challenge you can walk up from the town center, but if you prefer to take it easier the gondola is the best choice. In nine minutes you glide from the town to wide views and fresh mountain air.
Once at the top, you will find many great paths to explore, short, long, steep or gentle. And if you are looking for good photos for your feed, you will not need to look far. It is beautiful in every direction.
