Hardangerfjord:

A short drive from Voss you will find the beautiful Hardangerfjord with picturesque villages scattered along the fjord. The Hardangerfjord Cruise (“Hop on hop off”) is a nice way to see the fjord and visit local attractions. Season: All year

 

Sognefjord:

Norway’s longest and deepest fjord, the Sognefjord, is only 45 minutes drive from Voss. The Nærøyfjord, between Flåm and Gudvangen, is listed as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Fjord Safari offers tours with rib boats from Flåm, which is a great way to see and get close to the fjord. Season: All year

 

Norway in a Nutshell:

This world-famous round trip takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery in western Norway. The tour includes a journey on the Flåm Railway, a cruise on the Nærøyfjord and a bus journey through Nærøydalen via Stalheimskleiva back to Voss. Season: All year

 

Trolltunga:

Just 1.5hrs drive from Voss, you will find the popular hiking trail to Trolltunga. Trolltunga is one of the most spectacular scenic cliffs in Norway, hovering 700meters above the Lake Ringdalsvatnet in Odda. Trolltunga Active offers guided alternatives to the cliff, which is recommended. Please not that the hike to Trolltunga is “grade black” and for experienced hikers. The hike takes approx. 12 hours return from the parking lot in Skjeggedal. Season: mid-June to mid-September

 

Cycling:

Cycling highlights in Voss takes you from the mountains to the fjord, on quiet rural roads to attractions such as Tvindefossen and Skjervsfossen waterfalls or on shorter family friendly excursions. You can also take your bike on the train to Finse and bike the Rallarvegen (Navvies Road) back to Voss. Season: April-October

 

Summer skiing:

About 2 hrs with car from Voss you can go summer skiing at FONNA Glacier Ski Resort. Approx 1200 metres above sea level Folgefonna glacier has one of the longest glacier surface lift of 1100 metres and a vertical drop of 250 metres. Season: May-August

 

Bergen:

On a daytrip to Bergen you can experience the world heritage listed Bryggen, the Fish Market, Fløibanen funicular, Bergen Aquarium and Mount Ulriken. If you want to go shopping, there is a great variety of shops. Travel time by train from Voss; approx 1h 15 min. Season: All year
