Historic facelift for Bavallen

Investing 90 million in the first construction phase

It's not just a new apartment building that's now being built in Bavallen. With the Bavallen Basecamp project, Voss Resort is embarking on a comprehensive renovation of the entire base area – a long-awaited modernization of buildings that have stood there since the old Bavall lift opened in 1973.

Construction on the first phase of Bavallen Basecamp is now in full swing. Of the 27 apartments in the first phase, 19 have already been sold, and move-in is planned for 2027. But this is just the beginning of a larger transformation.

From 1973 to modern mountain comfort

When the entire project is complete, Bavallen Basecamp will consist of a total of 52 apartments, a ski café and ski rental. To make room for this venture, faithful servants must make way: Today's heating stove and ski rental will be demolished before part two of the project starts.

– The oldest building in the area is the bottom station of the old Bavallsheisen from 1973, so it is high time for a real facelift for the lower part of Bavallen. This is about upgrading the area for the future, while preserving the qualities our guests enjoy, says CEO of Voss Resort Øyvind Wæhle.

Even the youngest skiers have something to look forward to. As part of the development, the children's area with Grebbesbakken will now have a better connection to the Basecamp facility.

90 million kroner for local businesses

For Voss Resort, it has been a conscious strategic choice to use local expertise. For the first construction phase, contracts for around 90 million kroner have been signed with local contractors. In addition, land has been purchased from landowners in Ringheim.

The general contractor Dalavind AS is itself the symbol of this local promise. The company was founded with the aim of expanding Bavallen Basecamp, and is backed by experienced players Hemre Bygg AS and Byggmeister David Gjøstein AS.

In addition, contracts have been signed with the following local companies:

  • Flage Maskin AS
  • Bravida Voss AS
  • Stanghelle Plumbers AS
  • HLM Architects

A base for an active life

Bavallen Basecamp will be the ultimate starting point whether you prefer alpine skiing, mountain skiing or cross-country skiing in the mountains in the summer. With ski-in/ski-out and modern facilities, we have everything you need for a good cabin life in the Vossafjella mountains, says Wæhle

With only 8 vacant apartments remaining in the first phase, it is clear that the market appreciates the combination of modern architecture and the central location of the facility.
